Well, the day is finally here. We are officially on Summer Vacation. Brianna started 5/25, my last day was 5/29 and Cassie's was today. Whew! It still hasn't hit home yet. :) What is sad is that I have a feeling this summer is gong to fly by! BUT I plan on making more memories with my girls. Brianna only has 2 more years of school and off to college she goes {I am not going to cry, I will not cry **sobbing**} and next year Cassie starts Jr. High. But, in the mean time ... Happy Summer Vacation everyone!! ♥♥

Well, Since we are close to Mother's Day, I thought I would share my first Mother's Day gift ... a fax machine. Yeah, super romantic. BUT, when I was pregnant with my first daughter, I was planning on gong back to work. After I had her, there was no way I wanted to send her to daycare. So Jim and I made the decision for me to stay at home with her. For Mother's DAy, Jim bought me a fax machine so that I could do some type of work from home with Brianna. Now it wasn't the most romantic gift, but it was one of the most thoughtful and meaninful gifts that I have received as a mother's day gift. :)

IN the mean time remember the season ... we are not off of school for a week to celebrate a season, spring. We are off school because Jesus Christ died on a cross for me. And yes for you. But the most amazing part is that he rose from the grave and is alive today. We are taking a week off to celebrate the amazing and holy God who came to earth to die and save us. That same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, lives in us! So please don't forget ... it is not "spring break" that we have been celebrating. It is EASTER break!!! Happy Easter everyone ... and thank you Jesus for all that you went through for me.

I have teamed up with her unique designs and am now selling Quick Pages (QP) with her kits!!! If you are not familiar with a QP, basically, I create a scrapbook page for you. Today was supposed to be my "Grand Opening", but Scrapmatters had some difficulty this week and prolonged the new releases until tomorrow. Birthday Celebration Train!!

Happy Birthday Wendy!!!! We are all thrilled that you are joining us to help celebrate Wendy's birthday. I am sure most of you have just come from Jennifer's blog. And before I give you my template, I wanted to share one of my best birthday's ever:

Actually, I have to back up a year ... it was the worst birthday. I was turning 31. Everything that could go wrong did that day. I was sick and nothing was going right. It was nothing that my family did, just life. By the time Jim got home to make dinner for me, the girls and my dad who came to help celebrate, I was almost in tears. My family did everything they could to cheer me up and it helped. I was really looking forward to my "German Chocolate Cake" ice cream from Baskin Robins. For the past couple of years that has been my birthday cake. I LOVE it. The only problem is that it is seasonal ... Oct.-Dec. Well, since my birthday is Jan 4th, it has never been a problem. This year when Jim went to get our ice cream, they were out. Not a drop left. I didn't know this at the time, but Jim had the lady call ALL the Baskin Robin's in the area to see if they had any. Everyone was out. Everyone. When Jim called I could tell by his voice that something was wrong. When he asked me what other flavor I wanted, I started to cry. I picked a different flavor and tried to let it go. I found out later, that when my dad went home, he called all the BR around the area as well. My family rocks.

So, fast forward a year. The last week of December, the girls hear Jim open the garage door and they go run out to meet him. All of a sudden I hear squeals and giggling. I knew something was up. Jim comes walking in the door with a FULL TUB of "German Chocolate Cake" ice cream from BR. Not just a half gallon, but when you walk into a store and ask for a scoop of ice cream? The tub the scoop it out of? THAT tub! He wanted to make sure that i was not deprived of my favorite ice cream of all time. What a guy!! It is a memory I will treasure always!!

Happy iNational Scrapbooking Day!!! What a wonderful holiday!! He, he!! Well, you should have just arrived from Britt's blog. Before we get to the freebie, I wanted to share a special moment my family had this last Thanksgiving:

Now while it looks like a bunch of us trying fly wooden airplanes, there is something special about it. My brother (man in the center) had invited his girlfriend's parents to my mom's house so that our families could meet (girlfriend on far right. My daughter is center by my brother. The other two people, are the parents). NEVER have we met "the parents". Everyone thought David was going to propose to her while we were all there. But I knew better, it wasn't romantic enough for him. This was a chance for our family to get to know each other. My baby brother had finaly met "the one" God had choosen for him. So in this moment, I knew that our family would never be the same. I finally had a sister!! O.k., well, not offically, but soon. I knew it. And yes, David did propose the following month ... a story I will save for a different time. :)

It is hard to believe 1 year ago I was talking to my friend Suzette Allen (amazing photographer BTW ... check her out on the right side) on the phone when Jim walked in the door. He was home about 2 hours earlier than normal from work. I hung up the phone only to have my world turned upside down. Jim was one of the thousands that lost his job. That weekend we had planned to go to my sister and brother in-laws cabin for the weekend. I remember sitting there trying to keep a happy face wondering what life would be like a year from now. Would we loose our home? Would Jim ever find a new job in the economy as bad as it was? I knew God would provide for us, but how? I KNEW I had to keep my faith and not waiver ... but oh the doubts I faced.

1 year later, almost to the exact time he walked in the door, I am soooo grateful. First off to Jesus Christ. He is our everything. Our Rock. Our El Shaddai. Second, to family. They supported us in prayer, food, money, helping Jim out with side jobs, etc. I am not sure how we made it, but we still have our home, and the only thing shut off were our cell phones. We are truly blessed. I remember looking in Jim's eyes and prophetically telling him it would all be alright. And it is. He now has a job that he loves and because he is happy, I am happy.

Lesson to be learned? God will provide for ALL your needs. He is our loving Daddy. I would not want to do it again, but I am very thankful for all the He did for us.

Well, I must say that 2009 has not been my favorite year. Besides Jim being laid off, getting swine flu/throw up flu/cold/migraines, etc., we did have some good moments ... Bri starting high school, Cassie in 4th grade, me starting my 5th year of teaching, dancing at my parents church where on girl was saved. I must say that through it all God is still good. We dealt with a lot of junk this year. A LOT! BUT through it all Jesus was right by our side. How we have been able to function is by the Grace of God. Literally. Looking back, I would not want to do this year again, but I can see how we were carried through it all. Our family gave to us in so many ways, our friends support and prayers, it all adds up. So, I am glad 2009 is over and can't wait to see what God has in store for us in 2010. I pray that as this year comes to an end, that you too can look back and see God's hand upon your life ... through the good times and the bad.

Well, some fun/exciting/thrilling news ... last year I applied to Traci Reed's Creative Team. {Traci sells over at Sweet Shoppe Designs. } I was turned down, but in her "no" letter, she gave a list of what she looks for when picking members. Even though I was sooo disappointed to get a no, I took to heart what she had put down and started changing how I scrapped. I am very proud to say, that one year later, I WAS PICKED TO BE ON HER CREATIVE TEAM!!!!!! Yeah me!!! So here are some layouts that I just love that I have created with her stuff. I am also including layouts from other designers as well just because I love them sooooo much! ;-)

Well, life has been busy as I am sure it is for all of you. We are getting ready to perform in our Christmas production at church, the girls have one more week of school {one more week of work for me!} and Jim has been working, working, working. What a guy. :-) I haven't been keeping up with this neglected blog ... so sorry ... but I wanted to drop in and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!! We are so blessed this year and during this season of Joy, I wanted to bless you. Where ever you are, what ever you are doing, what every you are going through. May our Lord Jesus Christ bless you and keep you this Christmas season.

As you can see they create amazing kits!! Besides enjoy the above, we are doing pretty good as a family. We have not been sick ... hallelujah!! But, we are on Thanksgiving break. Brianna is making a 1800's dress with her grandma right now for a drama project. should be interesting when it is done. ;) Cassie has been hanging out around the house waiting for Jim to finish work so that he can work on the beds ... sigh ... yes. Almost a year later he is still trying to finish them. :) I have been doing the same old thing. Heather and I started back up Tripleshots, so if you feel like a photography challenge, head over there. This month, the challenge is to take a picture with leaves. It has been fun pulling out the camera again.

Digital Scrapbook Day!!!

This Saturday is a day a lot of us can't wait for ... it is where we celebrate out "addiction" to scrapbooking and the friendships that we have online! I personally will be hosting two different challenges. The first starts on Friday at Funky Playground Designs. It will be a scrap by numbers challenge and there are two $5 gift certificates to the store up for grabs! This challenge will run through the weekend so you have plenty of time to finish! I will also be hosting a Speed scrap at Daydreamer Designworks on Saturday at 10 a.m. PST. If you participate, you will receive this kit by Designs by Jen Yorko!! She let me pick out any kit in her store, so I tried to find one that would work for both boys & girls ... isn't it ADORABLE!!! Also:

Oh my word. I have never been as sick as I have been these last two weeks. I came down with the H1N1 and that turned into pneumonia. Never have I lacked that much energy. Just the thought of getting up killed me. Jim unfortunately came down with the same thing 3 days later. We were a mess. My parents wanted to come down and help, but there was no way I could let them in my home and have them get sick like Jim did. I felt so bad. The girls ended up at Jim's parents house for about 6 days. That was soooo hard not having them here, but at the same time it was a huge relief. We were blessed beyond words with what our friends and neighbors did for us. EVERYONE commanded us that we if needed anything, we were to call them. I finally broke down and did. Each friend/neighbor got a call from me ... I need cough syrup ... I need a dinner ... etc. They were right there with what we needed. It was a HUGE blessing. This is something I hope no one ever goes through. There are no words to describe it. Jim and I just look at each other and know how hard it was. So, today I took the last of my antibiotics the sun is shinning, the girls are at school (which I drove them to!), my husband has a wonderful job and God is in control. I pray you all are having a healthy day that involves hugging you family. :-)

I was lucky enough to be asked to be on their store Creative Team!! :) Basically what that means to me is that instead of tooting just one designers horn, I am tooting the whole store and the designers in the store (which I might add are really amazing!). Hi all!! Here I am again with another sneak peek, this time from Sara Amarie ... but before I get to that, I would catch you up on our lives. Jim is LOVING his new job! It is such a better fit than the last one. He enjoys what he is doing, respects the people he is working with and the people there are just like him ... computer junkies. ;) The girls and I are enjoying summer vacation. The weather has been really mild lately ... it is only supposed to be 87 today!! Normally we are in the 100's ... not that I am complaining, it is just weird. This year we are mostly staying home and enjoying life. The girls are going to our church camp soon {thanks to my family}!! So they are really excited about that. I have been scrapping a lot, trying to catch up on my paper pictures before summer is over. Not sure I am going to make it. Well, it has been awhile since I posted, so I thought I would just chat to chat. Jim had his first real week of work last week and loved it. I really think he is going to be a nice fit for this company. Not only did Jim have a great first week, but Brianna graduated from 8th grade ... we have an official high school student. I am not sure what to think about that yet. Part of me is excited, part of me is sad. Time has flown by. Cassie is now in 4th grade, "upper" elementary. AND we are all on summer break. O.k, so my all time favorite digi scrapbook site is Sweet Shoppe Designs. I love all the designers over there ... so one of my favs, Sara Amaire had a Creative Team call, so I applied. I just wanted to write a quick thank you to all those who have served and lost their life on behalf of our country, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!! We are so blessed to live here. But that would not have been possible if it were not for those who chose to risk their life on my family's behalf. If you are a spouse of a loved one that died, our prayers are with you today. Know that we appreciate the sacrifice that was made.

Well, after 3 month, 7 days and 1 hour of being laid off Jim was offered a job!!!! He is working for an amazing computer company that does consulting work mostly for business. He is super excited and can't wait to start next week! There is room for growth and he will be doing what he absolutely loves ... working on computers!!! God has been faithful these last 3 months. We have been blessed though family and friends and we are extremely grateful! {Still} Doing the happy dance ... Heidi :)

Wendy has a kit the perfect kit "Easter Blessings" that I used to scrap the page with. I was pretty proud of Bri for her enthusiasm to serve. I thought she was the cutes clown there. ;)

Well, things are "normal" here ... as normal as one can be without a job. :) BUT God is continually providing so we can not complain. Still no work for Jim, but he is getting side jobs and that is a blessing. I have been working during the STAR testing at school as a proctor, so I have been able to get extra hours there. Brianna and Cassie are both being tested this week for the STAR testing. Bri is enjoying it because she gets out early from school. Gotta love that. ;) Cassie has been doing well in softball. She is quite the player. She does get board and has a hard time focusing, but all in all she loves it.

Well, I was asked to be on another creative team ... yeah!! It is called "Elise's Pieces. Her store can be found to the right of this page. Here is a layout I did of Cassie ... isn't she beautiful?!?

Well, Wendy from WM[squared] was having a creative Team call, so I applied. I honestly did not think I would be picked, but I was!! So ... drum roll please ...

That's me!! :D He, he!! One comment Wendy made that had me sold was that she never wants her items to look "digital". I was sooooo excited to hear that!! It is one of my pet peeves in the digi world is how fake some items look. Check her store out ... I think you might like her as much as I do! :D

I was also asked to be a part of Lyndie's CT team (the other half of "Gone Scrappin' Designs). ANDDDDDD, I applied to be on Else Hanson's Creative Team and she accepted me as well!!! :D :D Whew! Well, thought I would post our normal everyday life. Jim is about ready to celebrate a birthday ... Yipeeeee!! ;) He is still out of work. He has turned in a whole bunch of resumes, but no luck yet. God knows and is in control so we keep trusting in him. Our dryer broke Saturday, so that has been fun to deal with as well ... sigh ... ;)
Brianna just turned 14. I am amazed that in 2 months, she will officially be in 9th grade. A high school student. My baby is no longer a baby. She is very excited about high school. We won't hear what classes she has until August, so the suspense is killing her. He, he!!
Cassie is typical Cassie. She just started playing softball again. Jim is able to help out this year (I guess there are blessings of being laid off) with her team the "Sour Apples". We had our first official game on Friday night, which we won. Yeah Cassie!! If Cassie gets board on the field, she starts picking grass, making lines in the dirt, etc. She needs to learn to be patient and focus.
I am still teaching. It has been a roller coaster ride these last 3 months. One gal took a leave of absence to finish her credential for 3 months, so we have had a sub. Then I have been training a new gal as well. Needless to say, I will be happy when work returns to "normal". I just got back from a PE Conference that lasted 4 days. It was fun, educational and tiring. :) I was also contacted out of the blue by a digital scrapbook designer who asked if I would be on her Creative Team. After looking at her kits, I said yes!! So, you will be seeing more of Nikki's stuff here on this blog as well. I felt very honored to have been picked and not had to reply to a creative team call with the chance of a "no". :)

Anyway, I think that puts our lives in a small nut shell. ;) I pray all is well with everyone and you having a blessed day! :) Hopefully next post, Jim will have a job! :)
